Twinrocker makes fine handmade stationery from cotton and linen rag as it was made in Europe two hundred years ago. Each watermarked card, letter and envelope is individually hand-formed with natural deckled edges all around. After the paper is dry, it is hand scored, folded and glued. Colored papers can reflect the brilliance of plant fibers as well as flower petals and corn husks.

This beautiful 8 1/2" x 11" 3-ring binder contains actual samples and colors of the complete selection of invitations and envelopes. FORMAL INVITATIONS, NOTES AND ENVELOPES:

Invitations, announcements or notes for correspondence are made in three sizes which make up the traditional American "wedding set." However, they can be purchased either as a set or separately. Both the invitations and the envelopes have natural deckled edges all around the paper shape, and the envelope flap of the "Formal design" has the classic triangular shape. Normally, envelopes are closed with pressure sensitive seals. However, glue may be applied to any envelope at no extra charge

JUMBO INVITATIONS AND ENVELOPES:

These large invitations and envelopes are made in a thicker card stock and in several shapes with natural deckled edges all around. Sizes: 6" x 8" unfolded with feather deckle ($2.00) in 7" x 9" envelope ($3.00); 6" x 6" unfolded card ($2.00), 6" diameter circle with feather deckle ($2.00), 6" heart with feather deckle, 6" x 12" folded card with feather deckle ($2.50) all fit in a 7" x 7" square envelope ($3.00).

THICKNESS AND WEIGHT: All stationery is Text weight, .007" (85-105 g/m2). Invitations are card weight, .015" (260 g/m2)

HANDMADE CARDS IN MACHINE MADE ENVELOPES:

For an unusual card which opens to a large shape and costs less than expected, we offer it with a machine made envelope. Pop-up Heart cards and Telescoping cards both 5 1/2" open to a beautiful cloverleaf shape ($3.00). Machine made 6"x 6" envelope ($.50) .

BUSINESS SIZE LETTERS & # 10 ENVELOPES:

Business size letters, 8 1/2" X 11", and #10 envelopes are available with a squared flap on the envelope in both laid and wove. The letters are also $1.55 and the envelopes are $1.80.

PERSONAL LETTERS:

Personal, or Monarch size letters and envelopes are available with either a squared or a rounded flap on the envelope. The letters are 7" x 10" @ $1.55, and envelopes 4" x 7 1/2" @ $1.80.
THICKNESS AND WEIGHT: All stationery is Text weight, .007" (85-105 g/m2). Invitations are card weight, .015" (260 g/m2)
SURFACE: For an especially smooth surface, the normally Coldpresssed sheets can be plated to a Hotpressed surface at an additional $.05 per piece.

CUSTOM LETTERPRESS PRINTING

Printing your text is a three-step process:

1. TYPESETTING OR CALLIGRAPHY: The text for your invitation can be created either as original writing by a calligrapher or as type generated on a computer with desk top publishing or by a commercial typesetter. If you would like the names and phone number s of some calligraphers we admire, we will be happy to provide them. The finished "camera-ready" text is the actual size to be printed and in crisp black and white. It can be in the form of a photostat, a computer laser printout, or on a Quark computer disk. You may send the camera-ready text either to Twinrocker or to Soho Letterpress. In either case Soho Letterpress will make the printing plate.

2. PRINTING PLATE: The printing plates used at Twinrocker are made by Soho Letterpress, 71 Greene Street, New York, NY 10012; Phone 212-334-4356, or FAX 212-334-4357. Anne Noonon will work with you to make the printing plate. Soho charges $.50 per square inch or $25 minimum for the plate. The plate need not be larger than the area of the type or writing. Soho Letterpress will bill you directly for the cost of the plate and shipping charges with your credit card number. Then they'll send the plate to Twin rocker for printing.

3. PRINTING: The plate will be printed here at Twinrocker. You may choose from several ink colors: black, blue-violet, charcoal, gold, silver, bronze, hunter green, maroon, warm grey, or you may select any PMS color (a color matching system used by graphi c designers) for an additional $15.

CUSTOM ORDERS:

Invitations, announcements or letters can be custom ordered in any color and with decorative elements such as metallic thread, colored fibers, etc. Personalized watermarks can also be placed in the sheet. Contact Kathryn Clark for more information about ordering custom stationery.

PORTFOLIOS OR POUCHETTES:

As a gift or for personal use, our handmade pouchettes are a beautiful container for Twinrocker stationery, photographs, or other items. The decorative pouchettes, or large envelope, are available in several sizes and colors, some with interesting inclus ions such as thread, mica, corn husks, etc. The flap is accented with a wax seal impressed with the Twinrocker watermark.
